Ich habe übrigens auch nochmal bei der englischen Muttergesellschaft von "leihwagenversicherung.de" - Icarhireinsurance.com nachgefragt, welche in den Versicherungsbedingungen "offroad vehicle" ausschließt:
What exactly is an "offroad vehicle"? Every vehicle that has 4WD/4x4? Does the insurance cover the rent of a Toyota Hilux?
Antwort (kam sehr prompt):
We will cover vehicles with up to 9 seats, that are younger than 20 years and have a value of less than £100,000.
We will only cover 4x4 vehicles driving On Road - we do not cover any Off Road driving.
We will not cover vehicles that are driven Off Road or any excess charges occurring from driving whilst not on a Public Highway.
In some territories, roads may not be fully surfaced with tarmac (asphalt), or concrete however if they are located on maps in the local territory with a designated road number allocated by the local authority then those roads will constitute a public highway.
Dirt tracks, farm roads and other cross country trails which are not designated official road status will be considered as “off road”.
Please note that driveways to and from accommodation as well as public and private car parks are fine to use, we do not treat those as being “off road”
We hope this clarifies.
Könnte also durchaus für den ein oder anderen eine gute Alternative sein.
