Intrepid learnt that the Air Namibia board was no longer committed to the deal, and has apparently asked the American company to find another client.
Intrepid has apparently indicated that it will exercise its right in the contract to demand full payment from Air Namibia or the Namibian government, which has provided the financial guarantee for the deal.

The new plan included the idea to cancel the deal with Intrepid, with a view to lease secondhand aircraft from elsewhere and at a cheaper cost. The board had apparently indicated that it will go ahead with its plan to cancel the deal, an action that has now seemingly boomeranged in the faces of both the company and Treasury.
