# Minerals and Energy has announced that the retail price of all grades of
petrol will be increased by 36 cents per litre on Wednesday. The hike is
bigger than expected and will see the price soar to way over six-rands a
litre throughout the country. The wholesale price of diesel will rise
between 29 and 32 cents a litre. The single maximum national retail price of illuminating paraffin will be increased by 27 cents per litre. Ninety-five
octane unleaded petrol will cost 6-rand-48 per litre in Gauteng from next
week and 6-rand-24 at the coast.
