Und organisatorisch wird die WM ab 11. Juni ja ausreichend Gelegenheit bieten, Probleme zu erkennen.

Der King Shaka Airport in Durban ist seit heute frueh voll funktionstuechtig.
(wollte eigentlich noch einen link setzen, aber news24 ist noch nicht aufgewacht!)
Der alte Flughafen wird nach der WM im August verkauft.

Durban’s King Shaka airport opens at midnight

Saturday, 01 May 2010Effective from today, SAA will operate all its flights to and from the city of Durban from King Shaka International Airport (KSIA) following the opening of the airport for commercial airline activities. KSIA is South Africa's newest and greatest airport and is situated in La Mercy, approximately 35 kilometers north of Durban's city centre.

The current Durban International Airport site will first be handed over to the South African Air Force to use as a Military operating base for the 2010 World Cup, and then decommissioned as an airport.

During the first week of operation for the new airport, a free shuttle service will be available for passengers who have left their cars at the old Durban International Airport. Passenger will need to show their parking ticket as proof and will be assisted by the parking staff when they arrive at KSIA.

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has established a hotline number 08611 777 11 to address customer queries relating to the move.
