vielleicht hilft das etwas weiter. Wir haben heute folgende Email von Travelling Tortoise Bookings bekommen:

Dear Operators,
Hereby kindly take note that Travelling Tortoise is currently not managing bookings for the Etosha Roadside Campsite. The camp site is still in operation. We will communicate the status of all existing bookings with you individually through the course of the following week.
There is currently NO appointed booking agent for Etosha Roadside.
The campsite will receive guests on a walk-in, cash only basis until further notice.

Hat jemand in den letzen zwei Monaten die Campsite benutzt? Ist sie weiterhin offen, und wie ist der Zustand?

Da ich auch auf der Suche nach Infos zum Status der Campsite bin habe ich auf der Facebookseite der Hobatere Concession ( www.facebook.com/pg/...s/?ref=page_internal geht auch ohne Facebook Account) das folgende Posting gefunden :

"On July 11th, 2017, the Ehi-rovipuka Conservancy was successful in terminating the Hobatere Roadside Concession agreement between the Conservancy and Etosha Roadside Halt & Lodge Pty Ltd represented by Mr. Glen Roberts. Since 2014, development work as the Roadside Concession has been at a standstill. After several years of non-payment, disputes, broken promises, and endless negotiations, the Conservancy, with assistance from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, reached an amicable termination settlement with Mr. Roberts. The termination paves the way for the Conservancy to joint venture with new developers capable of maximizing Hobatere’s true potential for the benefit of the Ehi-rovipuka Conservancy. We will keep you posted on the revitalization plans and progress for the Hobatere Roadside Oasis!!!"

"On July 25th, the Ehi-rovipuka Conservancy reviewed and accepted a N$7.5 million dollar renovation plan for the Hobatere Roadside, now known as the Hobatere Oasis. The plan calls for a comprehensive revitalization of the existing campsite, permanent staff quarters, a luxury tented lodge, a cantina style restaurant with wildlife viewing deck, and a fuel station. The new plan creates many temporary jobs and over 35 permanent jobs for the Conservancy. Hobatere Oasis will be a welcomed sight for travelers driving to and from Etosha through the Galton Gate.

According to Mr. Roger Collinson of the IRDNC, “Hobatere has been sitting fallow for far too long. This plan elevates the Concession to a Five Star standard and provides much needed revenues and job growth for the Conservancy. We are excited for the future and look forward to witnessing the revitalization of Hobatere.”

Die Campsite ist wohl geöffnet, aber man kann nicht reservieren.
Ich habe gestern folgende Antwort auf meine Mail von hobatere@gmail. erhalten:

My apologies for the delay in responding. The Roadside Campsite is now operated by the Ehirovipuka Conservancy. They do not have a reservation system in place to accept reservations. You can generally find space without any problems.

Sorry that we cannot be of any more assistance at this time.

Wir übernachteten vor 1,5 Wochen auf dem Etosha Roadside Camp. Es ist offen, die Stellplätze kosten 140 Dollar, die privaten (mit eigenem Klo und Dusche) 250 pro Person.
Aufgrund der Nähe zum Galton Gate für mich sicher eine Empfehlung!
