After supper he came strolling through the camp, flinging chairs aside and went straight for the camp table, where he proceeded to eat what was there and destroy various holders etc. in his search for more food. He then investigated all vehicles and trailers before leaving. There were 5 couples in our party. He was back later that night and nudged the trailer in which my wife and I were sleeping, no doubt looking for more food. Pretty scary.
He was back again the next night. We had just taken out a crate with most of our food to prepare for the next days drive. He came straight to the crate and proceeded to consume everything in it, including canned food and firelighters, about R1500's worth. We were in Campsite 1, close to the camp attendants living area.3 of them arrived on hearing our hooting, banging etc. and did all they could to move jumbo, including hurling a full bottle of wine which struck him on the forehead. Nothing would budge him.“
