The response by our officials and the law enforcement is highly commendable. This is most likely to be the fat of those involved wildlife crime. We are invested in pursuing perpetrators of wildlife crimes. We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to protect our wildlife.

Und die Operation der Polizei geht weiter

In another intelligence led operation by MEFT and Nampol , 2(two) suspects were arrested in possession with 15 Elephants tusks at Namandumo village,Malengalenga area in the Zambezi region.

According to available intel, 7 suspects were just returning from Botswana on a poaching expedition when they were intercepted. The other 5 suspects managed to escape the arrest.

This is a second incident in less than a Week in which a large number of element tusks were confiscated and suspects arrested in the Zambezi region. The first incident took place on the 24 November, 24 tusks were recovered and one suspect arrested.

We once again commend the work of the our anti poaching unit in the Zambezi comprising of the Namibian Police and MEFT officials for the job well done. This team has built a strong intelligence base that is leading to these arrests. This is the trend we want to follow in our fight against wildlife crime in order to deter those involved.

This should serve as a warning to all those that are involved in similar illegal activities that they will be caught and face the full wrath of the Namibian law.
